METAL LETTERS: WHY THE VERY IDEA OF IT IS SO INCREDIBLY OUTSTANDING!

Just think: a brand new magazine totally devoted to you! We're stunned no one’s ever thought of it before! Yep, METAL LETTERS is its name, and being “your” forum is its game! It’s a magazine and it’s more than a magazine! Or an advertising slogan!

CONTENTS

Ronnie James Dio Looks That Kill!

“NOW WITH HIS OWN BAND!??” Since I find it unnecessary to begin this letter with “Dear” (that is far too polite for you people), I’ll get to the point. First of all, I rarely ever purchase your magazine and the two times that I have it’s been for the photographs ONLY!!!!!

HOW DARE YOU TALK TO US? HISTORY'S GREATEST METAL OPINIONS UNVEILED!

STEVE TYLER OR ALBERT SCHWEITZER? (March, 1977) I am writing in reference to the article on Aerosmith in your December issue. Having met Aerosmith some two years ago in the small city of Dayton, Ohio, I can see what fame and money have done to this band.

PMRC & METAL CENSORSHIP "WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT!"

By now I’m sure you’ve heard of the PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center). Well, I feel what they are trying to do is leading to censorship, and we can’t let that happen. America was discovered because certain groups of people in England were denied the right to believe in the religion of their choice.

RATT: THE BIGGEST CHEESES IN METAL!

ALICE COOPER, BELLBOTTOM JEANS, MORE! I just finished reading the letters in your Sept. ’85 issue. I’d like to express my opinion on two specific letters. First, the one by Jeff S. of Miami. I don’t listen to groups like Cream, Sabbath, or Zeppelin (even though I’m sure they’re pretty good), but I do listen to groups like Motley Crue and (in my opinion) the king of rock—Ratt.

BON JOVI AND THE "UGLY WOMEN" CONTROVERSY!

BON JOVI TACTLESS! I really enjoy your magazine, and I was especially looking forward to the Bon Jovi article in the recent issue. I really like the band; I love the new album and the video for “Only Lonely.” Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for this interview.

BIG THUD ROUND-UP: ALL & EVERYTHING FROM ANGUS TO YNGWIE

I am writing in response to Jim Farber’s article on AC/DC in the March issue. First of all, Angus Young’s responses were great, but that was it. Well, the photographs were good too. I claim to be the biggest AC/DC fan in the South Western United States, and at first I wasn’t sure if you were complimenting the band or insulting them.

STRYPER:THE CELESTIAL CONNECTION

LYRICALLY SPEAKING I am 20 years old and have listened to such great bands as Led Zeppelin, Rush and Stryper. Ya, Stryper! We say that we never listen to the lyrics. The lyrics talk about love, sex, evil, Satan, torture and drugs. I find it very odd that when Stryper hits the scene with Christian positive lyrics, people get mad that they are pushing religion.

VAN HALEN CENTERFOLD

Kiss & Their Fans-Nice Guys Or Not?

KISS CONFUSIN’ EVERYBODY! I recently bought the record Love Gun by Kiss. It’s an excellent record. However, the record label is screwed up! They printed the order of songs wrong, printed some songs on the wrong side, and underneath the masterpiece "Shock Me” they spelled Ace’s last name “Freeley” (instead of Frehley).

Metal The Magazine: What You Readers Think And If

IF IT HAPPENS, IT HAPPENS! I’ve been reading these metal magazines for a long time. One of the highlights of reading them, besides the articles, is the mail that you print for all readers to see. I think this is a great idea because so many people get to voice their opinion and actually have someone listen.

TIPPECANOE & MOTLEY CRUE!

YOU F.O.’S Motley Crue rules. For all of you who think otherwise, may a thousand Martians vomit turnips in your hair. Smokin’ In The Boy’s Room In Havertown, PA TAKE WHAT PERSONALLY? Don’t take this personally, but Motley Crue sucks! They are the worst band there ever was.

Black Metal Inspired By Satan Or Really Cool Stuff?

KILL ALL SATANIC BANDS! I just want to say I think all "satanic black metal” bands should be shot!! There’s too many negative thought vibrations surrounding this world already. If anything, we need a little more light shown on this earth, instead of darkness.

VAN HALEN: OLD vs. NEW

As you’ve probably heard, the new Van Halen album is due soon. The world awaits.
